"KAHLUA"
(PIEDELAI
ESCOLHIDO DE
EVORA CGC)
Kahlua passed over the Rainbow Bridge rather suddenly in January of
2005. She was 13 years old and just as sweet and spry as ever. Her
breeder Judy Seibert was down for the Rose City Classic that weekend.
The night before she passed, Kahlua played like a puppy for an hour with
us before bedtime. We laughed and laughed at her clownish antics,
mischievous eyes and big old grin. What a lovely last memory of my dear
girl.
Kahlua was perhaps the
most intelligent dog in my household: she'd figured out how to live in
the lap of luxury and do absolutely nothing in return! Don't be fooled,
though. Kahlua, only 18" at the shoulder, had been caught red-pawed
launching
to the top of the stove to snitch freshly boiled eggs. She also
regularly cleared the baby gates that section off the house. She
was a great snuggler and made me laugh. She was also a prodigious snorer.
In every day life, she did her best to keep Tia in her place (right).
She was truly a "Queen Bitch" in the nicest sense of the term.
Kahlua
was pointed but
never finished her championship, mostly because she was my first show
dog and it was all I could do to breath in the show ring, let alone go
in the right direction! Right up until the end, Kahlua's effortless,
flowing movement stopped people in their tracks.
